Who we are?

The CortoConfine IFF 2021 Biennial is organized by the Castello di Padernello Foundation and is directed in every phase by the Jury composed of:

 

Prof. Giacomo Andrico (Artistic Director of the Competition)

Director – Set Designer

He has worked and continues to work as a set designer in almost all the most important opera and drama theaters in our country and in several cities abroad. Among the works created we remember: Lohengrin by R. Wagner for the Teatro Comunale of Bologna and the Teatro Escalduna of Bilbao, directed by Daniele Abbado. Norma by V. Bellini for the Sferisterio of Macerata, in collaboration with the sculptor artist Giuliano Mauri. La Sonnambula by V. Bellini for the Teatro Regio of Turin and the Teatro Real of Madrid, directed by Mauro Avogadro. For the Corea Opera Festival in Seoul, Il Trittico by G. Puccini, directed by Cristina Pezzoli, Rise and fall of the city of Mhaagonny for the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari and the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, directed by Daniele Abbado. Puccini's Triptych for the Teatro Comunale di Modena, Teatro Comunale di Ravenna, Teatro di Livorno, di Lucca and Pisa directed by Cristina Pezzoli. Aida by G. Verdi Florence Boboli Gardens, in collaboration with the sculptor Igor Mitoraj. Don Giovanni and The Marriage of Figaro by W.A. Mozart for the Cathedral of San Galgano and the Teatro Massimo V. Bellini in Catania directed by Luca Verdone.

He also worked in the stable theaters of Bolzano, Rome, Brescia, at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, at the Teatro stable in Turin, collaborating with artists, directors and actors such as: Igor Mjtorai, Giuliano Mauri, Rossella Zucchi, Antonio Piovanelli, Gianrico Tedeschi , Sergio Fantoni, Lino Troisi, Mauro Avogadro, Massimo Popolizio, Umberto Orsini, Franco Branciaroli, Cristina Pezzoli, Daniele Abbado, Claudio Longhi, Luca Verdone, Mina Mezzadri, Elisabetta Pozzi, Maddalena Crippa, Virginio Gazzolo, Nanà Cecchi, Monica Conti, Paolo Bessegato, Carlo Cecchi, Isa Danieli, Carlo Battiston, Maria Paiato, Patrizia Milani, Nicoletta Braschi, Patrizia Zappa Mulas, Nancy Brilli. Gabriella Pescucci.

In 2004 he was invited to the Prague Theater Quadrennial representing Italy with Margherita Palli, Maurizio Balò and Motus.

Since 2006 he has been part of the artistic direction of the Nhimphe Castello Foundation in Padernello (Bs).

He taught with Margherita Palli at the IUAV in Venice. Since 1996 he has taught in the scenography department of Margherita Palli at NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan and at the Accademia Santa Giulia in Brescia.

He has directed numerous prose plays, documentaries and short films to his credit. Among these works we remember: “Galileo Galilei un trial” (Fondazione Nhimphe, Ctb); “In Alto Mare” by S. Mrozek (Teatro dell’Ombra, Teatro Sociale di Brescia, Fondazione Nhimphe, Centro Teatrale Bresciano); “The small city” by T. Wilder (Brescia Actor's Festival); “Off topic” D. Buzzati (Fondazione Nhimphe Castello di Padernello. With Giuseppina Turra and Alessandro Mor); “Michelangelo Vita” drama inspired by the letters and rhymes of Michelangelo Buonarrotti, with the actor Antonio Piovanelli, show produced by the Teatro di Roma and the Bresciano Theater Center for 2016. He curated the staging of “Lettere Luterane” by Pier Paolo Pasolini, from “Il calapranzi” by H. Pinter, from a work by W.A. Mozart: “The Magic Flute” produced by the Arena of Verona and “The Taming of the Shrew” for the Shakespearean festival of the Roman Theater of Verona.

He recently directed “ME.ME.DO.” (La Meccanica del Melodrama Dozzinale) at Wonderland Festival in Brescia; and “Lager

In Seoul he oversaw the staging of “Elisir d'amore” by Gaetano Donizetti for the Metropolitan Theater Seoul Center (state theater of South Korea), March April 2017. Also in Seoul he set up at the Seoul Art Center: “Il Trittico ” by Giacomo Puccini (2016) and “Lucia di Lammermoor” by Gaetano Donizetti (2018).

Cinematographic works: “Giubileo” (16 mm fiction) prize at the Fano film festival and Arcipelago 8 in Rome; “Il Passo di Frati Calzi” (35 mm fiction) prize at the Friuli Venezia Giulia Festival, films made with the choreography of Rossella Zucchi: “Il pane della memoria” (HD fiction) prize for photography at the Rome Film Festival.

Documentaries: “Klousios” (betacam documentary) Athens International Archaeological Film Festival”; “Come Paolo” (betacam documentary) Edizione S. Paolo, Rome; “Il golgota di Cerveno” (documentary) produced with the contribution of the Lombardy Region and the European Community Echi project (Italy Switzerland); “1724-1725 Federigo Bencovich”(hd); “Mareee” (hd); “Sophon” (hd); next edition is the short film on Ettore Majorana “Ettore!” produced by Willyco film. Also for Willico film, the feature-length documentary "Giovinezze" has just been presented which deals with the theme of the resistance of the partisan women (relays) of the valleys of the province of Brescia. I Cinquant'anni d'un Teatro, documentary on the fifty years of activity of the Teatro Stabile di Brescia and the Compagnia della Loggetta, 2016. Il Gran Ceruti, documentary film presenting the exhibition Il Gran Ceruti on the Padernello cycle by Giacomo Ceruti known as the Pitochetto, 2015-16. Director Author Architect Curator Metteur en Scene, documentary on the shows staged by Luca Ronconi at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Teatro alla Scala production in collaboration with Naba, 2017. L'uomo dei ferri, documentary on the work of the second-hand dealer, 2017. Sacro Silenzio, short documentary film, on the pictorial work of Giulio Mottinelli, 2017; 70.1 Parole di Confine, documentary (2018); Acqua Crespa (2018); Traveling Lives (2018); Visitation (2018).

He is currently producing, for Willyco Film, the documentary on the figure of the astronomer Giovanni Paneroni, and The secret valleys of Leonardo, a documentary on the mysterious journey of Leonardo da Vinci in the Alpine valleys and along the path of the Oglio river.

He is working on directing the show Lager XI B and Rosencrantz and Guildernstern are dead by T. Stoppard.

L. Pavarotti is currently staging Le Villi by G. Puccini for the Teatro Comunale di Modena.

For ATERBALLETTO of Reggio Emilia he is curating the staging of Shakespeare's Tempest which will debut in June at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan (Teatro Strelher): with original music by Giuliano Sangiorgi and choreography by Giuseppe Spota.

He has, as another ongoing directorial project, “Fratelli, i van Ghog”, a study and show on the figure of the Van Ghog brothers Vincent and Theo.

Member of the OIFF Jury for seven editions and its Artistic Director.

Prof. Giacomo Colossi

Graduated in Mathematics. Teacher of Mathematics and Physics. He works at MIUR.

He writes science fiction, horror, noir and more. He creates and produces videos at school and beyond, and has two YouTube channels: one scholastic and one personal. He is co-founder of the “OrziInCorto” International Film Festival, which reached its seventh and final edition last year.

Prof. Vilma Razzi

​

Teacher of Italian and History. He works at MIUR. Graduated in Bologna with a thesis on cinema. For years he has been involved in cinema within Italian public schools, promoting events and making short films. She is the promoter of the History Project in the Institute where she teaches and collaborates with the Casa della Memoria of Brescia.

Prof. Marialaura Zanazza

Teacher graduated in Philosophy. Support teacher at the MIUR. He deals with cinema, theater and music.
